Ponderosa Speedway Under New Ownership
and Management
Junction City, KY-December
11, 2011-Ponderosa Speedway,
better known as "Kentucky's
Baddest Bullring", will be
under new ownership and
management beginning with
the upcoming 2012 racing
season.
Kevin Colston of Frankfort,
KY has purchased the 3/8
mile red clay D-shaped oval
that is located on the
Boyle/Lincoln County border.
Colston owns his own paving
business and has raced
locally in past seasons in
the Super Late Model and Pro
(Crate) Late Model divisions
around the Central Kentucky
area.
Colston has also named a
promoter for Ponderosa
Speedway and that will be
Larry Yantz. Yantz, who
lives in Waynesburg, KY, was
formerly the promoter of
Ponderosa Speedway from 2005
until the midpoint of the
2010 race season.
A formal press release will
be forthcoming as will an
upcoming schedule of events
and other details such as
race divisions, rules, etc.

forces for an action packed weekend of
The Fall Classic at Ponderosa Speedway.
The Friday Night Rumble was jam packed
with 33 Super Late Models, 25 Open Wheel
Modifieds, 9 Street Stocks, and 3
FWD/4Cylinder.
The Saturday Fall Classic has a
record number of cars for the 2011
Season.
There were 34 Super Late Models,
23 Modifieds, 26 Outlaw Sportsman, and 6
FWD/4 Cylinders. Drivers came from Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia
and
Michigan.
The furthest distance driver was:

Chris
Patterson, Jr from
Michigan.
On Friday night the Late Model Fast Time
was set by #9 Mike Jewell who also set
Fast Time from Scottsburg, IN who went
on to take the $2500 cash grand prize
for the evening.
#25 Dustin Neat from
Dunnville, KY ran a close second.
The Modified class paying $800 to
win was won by #75E
Elliott Despain who set Fast Time
followed by #28 JT Ayres.
The Street Stock class was won by
#12 Scott Beeler and the 4WD/4Cyl class
was won by #2 Brandon Lucas.
The regular season at Ponderosa ended
with the Fall Classic Race won by #33
Aaron Hatton, from Mt. Sterling, KY
taking home the Grand Prize of $5000 for
his efforts last night.
He was followed again by a close
second two nights in row by #25 Dustin
Neat from
Dunnville,
KY who set Fast Time. The Outlaw
Sportsman paying $1000 to win was taken
by #119 Eddie Stewart who also set the
Fast Time and followed by #5 Jeremy
Hines from Seymour, IN.
The Open Wheel Modifieds paying
$800 to win was won by #115 Jacobi Hines
from
Seymour,
IN.
Fast time was set by #3 Benji Lee
who followed a close second in the race.
The FWD/4 Cyl class was won by #360
James Crowe from
Isom, KY.
The track management and staff
